As a collaborator from the academic side that focuses on sustainability issues in depth, CSWM UI takes part in curating and evaluating the initiatives submitted by companies. The initiatives being curated range in impacts and SDGs in action. Several initiatives focus more on the social side, such as how Indesso Aroma developed a Gender Action Learning System that focused on developing an open access for education and inclusivity to their partners, especially women farmers through a creative learning system. On the other hand, there are companies that focus more on sustainability through their effort in efficiency such as Nestle that make use of the rice husk that came from their production into a sustainable fuel to power their steam boilers in several factories. This initiative tackles both energy efficiency and waste management which can be beneficial for them in the long run.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Chalid, S.Si., M.Sc.Eng also gives his opinion on the various initiatives being submitted “As we dive deeper, we find inspiring examples of how technology, strategic planning, and a deep commitment to sustainable principles can create impactful changes. These are not just stories of corporate responsibility; they are blueprints for the future, guiding us towards more sustainable business practices.”
In addition to the award ceremony session, the event was also filled with panel discussions which focused on resource efficiency and how technological advancement can benefit companies such as Jens Winkelmann of Endress+Hauser Asia Pacific, Sufintri Rahayu of Nestle Indonesia, Diofanny Swandrina Putri of Indonesia Carbon Capture and Storage Center, Efendi Toha of Indesso Aroma, Thomas Wagner of Eurocham Indonesia, and Madhav Raskar of Endress+Hauser Group. These panel discussion session is expected to spark new initiatives that bring about positive changes both locally within the company and in a wider scope as a sustainable business.
