Jakarta, November 1, 2023 – We are proud to announce the election of Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Chalid, S.Si., M.Sc.Eng as the Chairman of the Indonesian Polymer Association (HPI). This announcement comes after a rigorous selection process and the active participation of all members.
Prof. Chalid is a leading researcher and academic with an extensive track record in research and development in the field of polymer technologies. His commitment and dedication to science and technology have inspired many young researchers and practitioners in the industry. With his election, the HPI is ready to continue its mission to advance research, application, and innovation in the polymer field in Indonesia.
We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Prof.Dr.Eng. Eniya Listiani Dewi, B.Eng, M.Eng. for her invaluable contributions and leadership. As an influential figure, Prof. Eniya has demonstrated extraordinary dedication not only to the HPI but also in her role as president of the Indonesia Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy (IFHE) and as a leading researcher at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
We believe that under the leadership of Prof. Chalid, the HPI will reach new heights and continue to contribute to the advancement of polymer science and technology at both national and international levels.
The Indonesian Polymer Association (HPI) establishment was officially declared by Dr. Nilyardi Kahar on July 1, 1992 at the Grand Hotel Preanger, Bandung, Indonesia at the end of the 3rd-JICA symposium and the 2nd ASEAN – Japan Symposium on Polymers. Dr. N.M. Surdia of ITB was selected as the first chair of HPI.
The establishment of HPI carried out a lot of cooperation in national, regional and international levels, which aimed to bring researchers, industry and government representatives to discuss research, technology, and innovation of polymers prospect in Indonesia. In addition, HPI regularly conducted several workshops, symposiums and regional or international conferences in collaboration with other institutions in Indonesia as the organizers.
